Nordea Jean Sibelius Orchestra formed to support young musicians
Nordea has entered an extensive cooperation agreement with Jean Sibelius Marketing, the copyright proprietors of Jean Sibelius, to train students of classical music. Nordea supports gifted young students of music by setting up Nordea Jean Sibelius Orchestra in honour of the master composer.

Tammi Publishers joins the Jean Sibelius Brand by publishing a book in the autumn of 2007 about the birth of Jean Sibelius’ patriotic compositions. Accompanying the book will be a previously unreleased collection of 19 essential Sibelius compositions relating to the history of Finland. The book has been written by Veijo Murtomäki, a Sibelius scholar and professor at Sibelius Academy. Veijo Murtomäki is also well known as a music critic for the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. The accompanying musical assemblage has been designed by Jan Vaaka, a producer specializing in classical music. Among the performers on the record are the YL Male Voice Choir and the Lahti Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Osmo Vänskä. This book, published by Tammi Publishers, is a part of the Jean Sibelius Brand product family.

Jean Sibelius Marketing has signed three licence agreements for use of the Jean Sibelius trademark with Logonet Oy, an internationally operating company.

The first Jean Sibelius Brand license agreement pertains to the production and sale of products intended for tourists. The product line will be published in the end of summer 2007, and will include recordings, CD post cards, textiles and quality small items.

The second license agreement pertains to business gift production. Logonet Oy is the official representative of Cerruti 1881 brand business gifts in Finland. A superior collection of Jean Sibelius by Cerruti 1881 will be unveiled in the autumn.

The third license agreement pertains to establishing and maintaining a global Jean Sibelius web store.

Jean Sibelius Marketing has signed a license agreement with Swedish record company BIS Records AB, who will publish the entire breadth of Jean Sibelius’ compositions on CDs under the Jean Sibelius Brand trademark. The entire production will be completed by the end of 2009.
